Zach Johnston and Matteo Roberts scored the 2015 Oscar nominated short animated film, The Dam Keeper, and all subsequent films for the animation studio Tonko House, created by Pixar veterans Dice Tsutsumi and Robert Kondo. In 2016 they scored the award-winning, Moom, based on Genki Kawamura's beloved children's book in Japan. They recorded the music for Moom with music editor Mark Willshire (Lord of the Rings, King Kong, The Aviator). More recently, they scored Pig: The Dam Keeper Poems, a Hulu Japan original miniseries written and directed by former Pixar animator Erick Oh (Inside Out, Finding Dory, Monsters University).

Zach & Matteo were also bandmates in the indie folk band Phox, making notable appearances on Conan, "This Morning" on CBS, Coachella, The iTunes Festival, and NPR's Tiny Desk Concert. They recorded their debut album at Bon Iver's studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin with Grammy award-winning producer Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Indigo Girls). Their music has been featured on the Amazon TV show "Transparent" and NBC's "Parenthood."
